Squatting Supermarkets: Shoptivism Narrations

Telling the other side of the story is the goal that Squatting Supermarkets is aiming at, an installation, a performance, a work of net art, some short stories (and one could use many more words to describe it), a coproduction FakePress / Art is Open Source, presented for the first time in November 2009 during the Piemonte Share Festival. Evan Roth: Graffiti Taxonomy. Writing Between Research & Documentation

If it is true that since the beginning of this phenomenon numerous photographers and video makers, have tried to slow down the extinction of Writiing, it is also true that their tentatives were limited. Donkijote By Cristian Bettini. The Sustainable Slowness Of Being

Once upon a time there was a man who was travelling with a donkey. With them was also a GPS, a solar panel, a PC with a modem and a video camera. The donkey's steps guided the man through nature - steps that were very different from those that men have taken since they have been walking through cities. The donkey was called Minuto, and the Italian Cristian Bettini used him as a guide and as a metronome for his journey through an artistic project (Donkijote - third chapter of a complex project that started off as Lasino.org, and then continued as Donkeypedia) which allowed him to discover the fascinating Asturias region in Spain with his feet firmly on the ground.... Heroes? Not really, according to them. They do what we all could do, what we all should maybe do: to denounce, inform, express ourselves, find our spaces, make our voice being heard (especially when who should be representing us, does not actually do it at all) and yet defend freedom, enjoy ourselves, try to be fine and take charge of the consequences of our lifestyle over human kind and the environment. Without being afraid, without being submissive, get what is ours, in a creative way, in a cultuerd, artistic way.... READ MORE...

I Have Nothing To Say. Emergency – Emergent Agency

How do we deal with broken promises? How can artists work to enhance agency among participant audiences who are anonymous, migratory and in transition? Can the museum become a space for Habermasian democratic dialogue under a state of exception? These are some of the questions that guided the project Emergencia - Agencia Emergente // Emergency - Emergent Agency by the Lui Velazquez collective, which was part of the Proyecto Cívico: Diálogos e Interrogantes (PCDI) public programming developed by Bill Kelly Jr. as part of the Proyecto Civico show curated by Lucia Sanroman and Ruth Estevez, at the Centro Cultural de Tijuana (CECUT) in the fall of 2008....
