Oliviero Ponte Di Pino. Ateatro.it: Dieci Anni Di Webmagazine

Stefano Tedesco. Radical Improvisation

The little and typical town of Casté in La Spezia's countryside, within the municipality of Ricc˜ del Golfo, after the Foce pass, counts 23 inhabitants (someone more during the summer) and was completely rebuilt and restored thanks to the European Union's funds. This summer the town has become scenario of a series of very particular initiatives divided into theatre, videos and music. It is a wonderful landscape in the Vara Valley with old houses made of squared stones and cement, 'piazoet" (i.e. balconies used to make products dry), and a single family-owned restaurant, which is difficult to abandon once sitting on the balcony with a great view on the valley rich of chestnut groves.... How To Recycle Raee. Manuel Bozzo: Korf And Advanced Art

They are called Rifiuti di Apparecchiature Elettriche ed Elettroniche (Electronic waste), the old home and industrial TV devices, cathode ray tubes, that after having been our analogical company for many years are now part of fossil age. And with the widespread of digital technology they are bound to occupy an even larger space in disposal plants. The collective KORF suggested in La Spezia, at the Centro di Arte Contemporanea during an ex position titled Arte Avanzata, the other side of recycling: TV is not (only) rubbish. This story will be told us by one of the collective's protagonists: Manuel Bozzo.... READ MORE...

Medi/action And Mediam(bi)ent. The Nuformer Digital Media Method

Projectable surfaces in metropolis have become big buildings' facades. We already wrote on this subject in the previous Digimag issue and this time we are putting forward our interview with Rob Delfgaauw from NuFormer, a Dutch firm which has diffused worldwide the sensationalist technique of mapping and screening 3d videos on edifices thus precisely reflecting existing volumes and altering in the public the way of perceiving the static object. Performances, advertising campaigns, big public events. Their promotional video, Projections on Buildings, a video-live performance in which buildings seem to be flaking off in front of spectators or else to be filled up with colorful small balls, was everywhere on the web. NuFormer style gets popular and turns into an example for many... READ MORE...

Hypersurface And Mediafacade. Urban Screen And Nu Former

Lev Manovich once said that the deep change which is affecting culture in the era of computerized media revolution also concerns space and its representation and organization systems. Space becomes a media itself: Just like all other media - audio, video, images and text - nowadays space can be transmitted, stored and recovered in a snapshot. Space can be squeezed, re-formatted, changed into a flow, filtered, computerized, programmed and interactively managed (L. Manovich, Il linguaggio dei nuovi media)... READ MORE...

Cinematography Of The Stone Age: Woyzeck By William Kentridge

The South African artist William Kentridge is one of the most renowned contemporary visual artists and proposes a poetic view on ancient taste where art and technique come together in the original value and significance of techné: the shows are based on his original filmed animations and recalls those theatres from the beginning of the century that experimented with the rudimental techniques of luminous animation (drawings on pieces of mobile glass, projected thanks to a Magic Lantern), promoting a primitive form of optical art.... Futurismi Teatrali A La Spezia

Santarcengelo Of Theatres: Festival Is Still Alive

Santarcangelo is the venue of the most important and historic festival of research theatre, which was once just the festival of street theatre. And we were there! Also (and mainly) during this precarious edition, with no artistic director for the first time in its long history. We must report the valiant resistance of the actors of the now famous and historic 90s' generation (Teatrino clandestino, Fanny & Alexander, Motus), but also of the 80s' generation (first and foremost, Soc'etas and Le albe)...
