The art of hacking

The art of Hacking focuses on the artistic side of hacking. The artists in this exhibition highlight the imperfections of our surroundings and daily lives. The projects subvert, improve on or circumnavigate ëofficialí systems and practices and offer alternatives. Superficially, hacking is often associated with spreading online viruses and other digital attacks. Officially these criminal activities are not really known as hacking, but as ëcrackingí. The real practice of hacking is done based on far more positive and artistic motives. Itís a state of mind and there are elaborate ethical codes within the hacker community.... READ MORE...

Saluti da L’Aquila

These are greetings from l'aquila but read them as invitations because you should come to understand not only what nature can do but also what they have been trying to erase from the consciences of us all and therefore come to listen to the silence and to watch time that remained still in a beautiful country that it is now still everywhere and in every direction despite the force of individuals that more than once have become the people and that today have lost the vision of the future even if it has brought us here or at least that is what they are inviting us to believe and thus greetings to everyone from l'aquila so that we can still choose in what to believe.... Sonic Acts XIV Travelling Time

Travelling Time is the fourteenth edition of Sonic Acts, which will have place from 23rd to 26th of February 2012 in Amsterdam, and its theme is the human experience of time. Time dictates our schedule; time gives us structure. We think of ourselves as living in the present, with the past behind us, moving towards the future. But in fact, there is nothing so complex and ambiguous as time: the arrival the early twentieth century of the theory of relativity and quantum mechanics has tampered with our straightforward concept of time....
