The Algorithmic “unconscious” – Part 2

This two-part essay offers an investigation of the 'depths' of the algorithmic workings of digital visualisation systems. The focal point of this study is digital 'memory', as explored in relation to the Algebras of Logic, the notions of process paradigm, pre-representational grids and emergence. In this way, the algorithmic unconscious' of digital visualisation technology - i.e. the inherent paradoxes and unknowns, the uncontrollable data flaws, the hidden inconsistencies, the exchanges and the potentialities of the system - is unveiled. New possibilities and ways of creating more than mere visual phenomena emerge... READ MORE...

Arte Bio-diversa.

READ MORE...

Phillip Stearns: Subliminal Machines

Phillip Stearns creates at the intersection of art, philosophy, and science, drawing upon a variety of disciplines including installation, audio-video, circuit sculpture, writing, performance art and musical composition. Deconstruction, dissection, and reconfiguration are methods he commonly employs in the interrogation of materials ranging from electronic objects, biological systems, images, light, video, and sound. His process is that of reduction aimed at revealing hidden macrocosms of potential, new materials for expression, and new paths for inquiries into understanding the state of things.... READ MORE...

The philosophical twentieth century was characterized by an explosion of science and scientific nature which highlighted an idea of progress and progression of the human thought and evolution as something which does not need further questions. Me, Myself And Twenty-three. Science And Narcissism 2.0

Art & Science A new art movement

Science is changing our world and our lives at an ever increasing rate. But today artists are bringing science out of the laboratory. Once art and science seemed diametrically opposite; but these days some of the most innovative artists are fusing art and science to create a brand new art movement inspired by science. Striving to visualise the invisible and what it must mean to be human in the future, they create images and objects of stunning beauty, redefining the notion of aesthetic and of what is meant by art....
