Redazione Digicult
LOOP Fair stands firm on its commitment to moving image and will showcase multiple works, testifying to the ductility of video as a creative and critical tool. This year’s presentations significantly explore the bridges between the symbolic world and the conception of nature, the essence of time through memory and archives, reviewing as well political struggles and conflicts. ... The Only Lasting Truth is Change

Redazione Digicult
We take as our starting point the multiple readings of “hallucination”—from the perception of something that is not really there, to a terminology of glitches within large language models, and to a description of a clash between different epistemologies. We will look for the various intersections between the artificial and the real—between large scale statistics and local knowledge... READ MORE...

NOVA RIO BIENNIAL of Art and Technology

Redazione Digicult
The first edition of the NOVA RIO BIENNIAL OF ART AND TECHNOLOGY will take place at the Museu do Amanhã. This event shifts the paradigm of exhibitions of its kind and becomes a part of the cultural programming calendar of Rio de Janeiro. The aim is to reconfigure the concept of the future in light of what creators from all over the planet exhibit and develop for screens near you, whether in the palm of your hand, on your mobile device, or through a digital TV set, or on monumental walls filled with pixels.... Redazione Digicult
Torino, 13 settembre 2023. Connecting

Redazione Digicult
Until recently, digital tools were nothing more than translations of physical applications: mail became e-mail, shopping increasingly happened online, banks funneled people to their apps. Then Web 2.0 and social media gradually changed the spaces where we interact. However the transformation did not end there and the boundaries between digital and physical worlds continued to blur.... Farah Al Qasimi: Abort, Retry, Fail

Redazione Digicult
The show takes its title from a computer error message that flashes up on Al Qasimi’s now defunct family computer. This machine connected the artist and her family to the world in the early days of dial-up internet, and until its recent malfunction was a portal for escape from reality, as a pirate, a gunslinging biker, or a tiny ball bouncing off the edges of the screen.... Trance at Tallin Art Hall

Redazione Digicult
In the context of Trance, Tallinn Photomonth 23’s main exhibition, the trance relates to a heightened state of watching: the kind that borders on addictive and is often mediated through screens. The presence of these objects and their attractive glow is so mundane and pervasive that not having one could today give an individual the feeling of isolation from a social context altogether.... Energy cultures. Energies, imaginaries, currencies, and nuclear horizons of the planet

Redazione Digicult
Energy has shaped life on earth, cilvilizations and societies throughout history, from the pre-human photosynthetic conversion of solar power into plant biomass, passing through the human-induced CO2-producing carbon fossil fuel including coal, gas, and oil, to hydroelectricity achieved through damming, up to the “very human” mid-20th century use of atomic energy through nuclear fission (the process by which neutrons released from atoms boil water used to generate electricity in turbines). Energy “makes the world go round.”... READ MORE...
