The three-day international festival of contemporary video art Videomedeja will be officially opened on Friday October 31st, at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina in Novi Sad (Dunavska 37), produced and organized by the Association for video art Videomedeja.

The Opening ceremony starts at 19:30h and at 18:30h Festival begins with a Special program, presentation by Goran Škofić, artists and winner of Bogdanka Poznanović award on Videomedeja 2012.

This year Videomedeja competition program contains three selections – Screenings, Media installations / Live and a new project Lunartis. The ten movies from the program Lunartis compete for two awards: Lunartis prize, awarded by the jury for the best film and Lunartis audience Award, for the best film in the opinion of the visitors (by adding the votes of the audience).

Selection Screenings will be presented with 41 videos, and they are applying for the Sphinx award. Media installations are represented with 9 media installations and two audio-video performances, among which will be assigned Bogdanka Poznanović award.

On Sunday, November 2nd, at 21:00h, the three-member international jury will announce the winners of the festival, and after that the audience will have the opportunity to see award-winning works.

On the competition for the 18th Videomedeja Festival arrived over 900 entries by the authors from more than 50 countries from all continents, and the program was, as in previous years, curated by Ivana Sremčević Matijević, Alexander Davić and Dragan Živančević. This year’s selection of works is a unique opportunity for education and insight into the possibilities of application of advanced technology in the current world art practice.
