Kernel Festival /011 starts to pulsate: first beats of rhythm, first flashes of light, for a perfect mix of music and contemporary art.

An unprecedented event in Italy: three days and two nights rich in art, music, performances, workshops, meetings, images and sounds, in a magic and extraordinary place.

An ambitious international project which will get together artists and fans from all over the world. The Festival will take place from July 1st to 3rd in Desio (MB), in the neoclassical frame of Villa Tittoni Traversi, as a showcase and a experimental workshop in four areas: Interactive & Digital Art, Audiovisual Mapping, Electronic Sound & Music and Temporary Architecture.

On stage emerging artists, chosen among more than 250 participants from 39 different countries which applied to online open calls, and famous international personalities as Alex Posada, Angelo Plessas, Dj Spooky, Joanie Lemercier-AntiVJ, Kode9, Lab Frequency, Moritz Van Oswald Trio, Mother Inc., Quayola, Shed, Telenoika, Troy Pierce (Minus/Berlin) and many others, with dj sets, audiovisual performances, round-table discussions and workshops, for three days of great entertainment.

Now available on Vivaticket website the early tickets, limited quantity and special price tickets, http://www.vivaticket.it/evento.php?id_evento=683724: each one includes a free drink and the adoption of 200 pixels, which will contribute to create an original and spectacular project.

Pixels will make up participants chosen pictures, which will be projected on Villa Tittoni façade, to form a neo-classic-pixel-patchwork illuminating the structure with uncommon lights and images. The project is promoted by AreaOdeon cultural association, under the patronage of Provincia di Monza e Brianza, the partnership of Comune di Desio and the sponsorship of Banca Popolare di Milano.

The Festival enjoys the cooperation of several national (IULM University) and international (Catalan cultural center Hangar.org and New York art gallery Bitforms Gallery) partners, media partners (editorial platform Digicult, InSound Magazine and Centostazioni) and technical sponsors (Covre Manifatture, Mx Group, Over the Rainbow e Clonk). Kernel Festival aims to be a permanent and stable platform on which engage and organize series of activities to promote the meeting and exchange among different contemporary artistic languages. Multiple events, as enzymes, catalyze processes of active involvement to offer young talents and established professional artists an arena for exchange, growth, involvement and visibility in the artistic, cultural and industrial contemporary panorama, at regional and international level.

By presenting a rich program of performances, exhibitions, conferences and workshops, Kernel does not want to be just a moment of pure and simple  entertainment, but also a meeting place and an opportunity for young artists. Through open calls and internatonal committees, composed of well-kown professionals, young talents will have the possibility to be selected to perform and present their project. The historical and cultural architectural heritage, particularly rich in our region, is given new meaning, representing an ideal laboratory for experimenting, sharing and mixing different experiences.

The festival aimes to be a new multi-disciplinary link between electronic sound and music, digital and interactive art, audiovisual mapping and temporary architecture. An event that gets together renowned artists and emerging young talents in an open platform, to create a contamination between different artistic languages and historical location full of charm.
