The 10th edition of Elektra – digital arts Festival – will take place from May, 1st till 10th of this year at the Usine C, at the Cinémathèque québecoise and at five galleries in Montréal: le centre des arts actuels Skol, articule, La Centrale Galerie Power House, la galerie Lilian Rodriguez et Pierre-François Ouellette art contemporain.

ELEKTRA’S MISSION

Elektra is an International cultural event presenting works and artists who ally state-of-the-art electronic music and visual creation stemming from new technologies (the animation, the installation and robotics). Elektra creates links between the mediums of creation as the music, the video, the cinema, the design, the video game and the sound or interactive installation in conjunction with the most recent digital technologies.

ELEKTRA 2009

Extended to 10 days, set off by five new venues and new partners, and fuelled by more than thirty international artists, this 10th anniversary Edition promises to be a not-to-be-missed event for all digital culture aficionados. Two tiers of programming will mesh. First, a series of installations in the new network of galleries articule, La Centrale,
Skol, Pierre-François Ouellette and Lilian Rodriguez in addition to Cinémathèque québécoise and Usine C, the main festival hotspots, will span a number of weeks.

This 10th Edition will then see 10 days brimming with must-see-and-hear daily events, including premieres and previews, at the seven festival locales, the 3rd Edition of the International Digital Arts Market (IDAM) at Cinémathèque québécoise, three performance evenings, along with a splendid closing night at Usine C, on Saturday, May 9.
