CYLAND Media Art Lab (St Petersburg, Russia) & Centro Studi sulle Arti della Russia (CSAR), Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, presents a panel curated and introduced by Marco Mancuso. The meeting aims to focus on the analysis of those intermediary territories connected to the impact of digital technologies and open networks on art, design and contemporary art.

Panel presentation text:
“We’re on the road to nowhere”

Lecturer: Marco Mancuso, Alessio Erioli, Bertram Niessen, Domenico Quaranta, Valentina Tanni

The idea stems from a series of considerations and reflections made in search of a possible set of heterogeneous paradigms that can describe, in a cross-disciplinary way, the less evident but at the same time more energetic changes taking place in the artistic, design and social fields in following the growing standardization and awareness in the use of hardware, software and network technologies.

CYLAND Media Lab is one of Russia’s most active New Media art nonprofit organizations. CYLAND houses the largest archive of Eastern European video art online, organizes exhibits around the world and is the force behind CYBERFEST (Russia’s largest annual New Media art event).
